Recorded in Melbourne in the same studio as The Spirit, Poor Boy is from Hugo’s work with the Jeffrey Lee Pierce Sessions; Hematite is a co-write with Berlin producer Don Rogall, Hugo’s collaborator on The Spirit’s Sleepwalker and Man Check Your Woman; the dark delta of Magnetic Girl highlights the presence of Patrick Brown from The Hellhounds on guitar; Lip Service and the title track pack some of the most intense sounds the band has yet released. False Idols is a wild ride.
